South Asia’s Premier and Sri Lanka’s largest ICT exposition “INFOTEL” (since 1992), organized by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), will be hosting its 14th edition from 20th – 22nd November 2015 at BMICH, Colombo. With Sri Lanka poised to be ‘The IT Hub’ of South Asia, INFOTEL 2015 will aim at ‘Connecting Citizens’ not only through education and information but also by providing to its end consumers a whole new world of intelligent devices and systems. INFOTEL will also demonstrate the use of such state-of-the-art technological advancements for the betterment of the island nation in the years to come.
The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka wanted a Fully Managed Digital Marketing Campaign for Infotel 2015.

We followed three simple steps to put the Infotel Website altogether – Prototyping, Style Concept and Final Development. Infotel 2015 required a website that would appeal to entrepreneurs and ICT professionals. Our expertise said that they would require a one-page story layout, which would break open the entire story in a short amount of time.
For the Style and Color Scheme, we didn’t want to stick to the classic monotones and duo-tones, which are working great for most other websites. We wanted to do something outside the box. Even though the color tones were more towards red and blue in majority of the sections, we were able to use most other colors through graphics and video displays.
Above-the-fold Optin forms are said to be obsolete, but we used the same concept in our opening slider, which resulted in around 250 opt-ins from new visitors one week before the event.
Extreme-SEO did the on-page and off-page SEO of Infotel.lk. We made it more searchable and relevant to entrepreneurs and other ICT Industry evangelists, and budding Information Technology Scientists.
Infotel doesn’t only target the affluent to come and showcase their work, but it also targets budding and aspiring entrepreneurs to come, learn, be a part of the experience and gives them a chance to make their dreams come true. The website received a total of 45,156 unique visitors with 5,194 organic search results and average 2.45 pages per session, which only means that the people who landed on the website were either pretty excited about the event from before or developed an interest in the event after landing on the website.
Reaching a bounce rate of 2.96% seems quite unreal, but it also displays the level of optimization in every tiny and seemingly insignificant part of the website by our web development and on-page seo team.
We controlled all the social channels of the event, starting from Facebook to Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and YouTube. Our two channels of emphasis were Facebook and LinkedIn.
We increased the Facebook likes of Infotel Official Page with a disruptive social media strategy by 150%. The brand buzz went up from 8 in a week to 1529. Infotel also managed to pull about 10 reviews from previous year’s visitors.
Twitter saw a massive jump in followers of Infotel 2015, which went up from negligible to 9736 in a matter of 3 months.
We lay maximum emphasis on LinkedIn, especially because it is more of a business oriented channel and its conversion ratio for Expos is much higher than any other channel.
From just 2896 Profile Views to over 10K Impressions in the page. We received the best conversions from this Channel, as we had anticipated.
According to our research, South Asian countries are yet to adapt to the Google+ Platform. Therefore, even before the start of the Google+ Management Campaign, we were not expecting a major social progress in this channel.
